Thank you for your support of Veterans Memorial Wreath Foundation and our effort to place a wreath on every veteran headstone at Washelli! We are disappointed that due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic we will be unable to hold this event this year. No public events are allowed at the cemetery through at least the end of this year. We have received generous donations this year for wreaths, and we will be rolling these over to 2021 to support the purpose for which those funds were intended.
Save the date to join us next year in honoring those who served and sacrificed for our country and our freedom! Our next wreath-placing event will take place Saturday, December 18, 2021, at 9 a.m. at Evergreen-Washelli Memorial Park, 11220 Aurora Ave N, in Seattle.
The Veterans Memorial Wreath Foundation, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, was founded to ensure we honor our veterans and teach the next generations about their service and sacrifice. The goal of the organization is to adorn each of 5,000 veterans headstones at Evergreen-Washelli Cemetery with wreaths each December. >> Learn more.
In addition to remembering and honoring those members of the military who have fallen, VMWF also seeks to teach the coming generations about the value of their freedom. To do this, VMWF also provides educational scholarships to local students.
Individuals and organizations seeking service opportunities can help the Veterans Memorial Wreath Foundation throughout the year. >> Explore opportunities.
